About Us

Navigating Independence, PLLC was born out of a deep belief: that everyone deserves the tools and support to move through the world with confidence, no matter their level of vision.

We’re a small but mighty team of Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists (COMS) who are passionate about walking alongside individuals who are blind or visually impaired as they build the skills to navigate life on their terms. We've worked in schools, homes, rural streets, and on busy downtown sidewalks, everywhere life happens. We believe mobility is more than just getting from point A to point B. It’s about learning, problem solving, and self-trust. 

Our story started with a single mission: to create a space where people of all ages, from toddlers to seniors, could feel seen, supported, and empowered. That mission grew as we saw families needing more than just services, they needed guidance, connection, and hope. So we made room for all of it.

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. Every client we meet brings their own goals, fears, strengths, and dreams—and we tailor everything we do to honor that. Whether we’re teaching a child to cross their first street or helping an adult regain confidence after vision loss, our approach is always rooted in empathy, expertise, and a whole lot of heart. We’re here for the long walk. The brave steps. The uncertain starts and the big victories.
